Even though I reviewed lots of acne products and I always saying (or writing) about my acne, I haven't post anything to specify my acne.
So today's post is all about my acne story from the beginning until today ! *wuhuu*
I will tell, from the very first until today's products I'm using to combat my acne
This post will mention a lot of brand names, and I must tell that everyone is different (read my disclaimer at the bottom of this blog). By mentioning brand names also not intended to bring down their brands. This post purely my testimonial :D . Also, because I've been suffering acne way before starting this blog, I can't show you about how bad my acne was.
Hmm, let me think, when I was in my 7th grade (junior high school), I got my first acne, it was all over my forehead. The acne is just on the forehead, other areas? clear!
The acne looked like this :

I don't know when the exact time the acne came, when I realised, they already like that, like a little acne village, location : forehead.
In my family surrounding, there are no one have problematic skin like me, so my mom is kinda stressed out, so she took me to dermatology, just regular - local dermatology (Dr. Magdalena), honestly, I don't know she is a doctor or not because I was so young and didn't care about it that time.lol , the price is quite cheap but many people went there and said the creams is potent.
I got cleanser and "bedak kocok" (it's a powder in solution, you have to shake it before applying), and she told to not to let my bangs touch my forehead.
Did all of it, and it heals after the cleanser & bedak kocok run out, well, it means their formula works for me, right? so I decided to repurchase again. Sadly, both products aren't potent to me anymore, how often I apply bedak kocok, how thick I apply bedak kocok, my acne stayed like that, the products became useless.
Then, The acne extended their village to my lower cheeks and jaws. So, I have three acne villages right now.
it's still the same type as on my forehead. My relatives said that it looks like I got gross diseases (penyakit kotor).lol.
Then my uncle took me to Dr. Hama because he used to had acne when he was young and went there as I remember and Dr. Hama is quite famous in here.
When I was there, the queue is so long, I arrived at 3 p.m and I'm in for consultation at 10 p.m, my uncle also already made an appointment day before too, so, you can imagine how famous he is!
I must say I don't like this doctor at all, he was just talking to me and my uncle for consultation, he doesn't even look at my acne. He just asked where I got acne, are there any acne on my body, and I said yes.
then, he started to talk about products I have to use, he used Sebamed products, he gave me sebamed cleanser, sebamed something-something that I don't remember because it's prescription.
I went home and my mom called to the local pharmacy to buy it, but the products are crazily expensive. As I remember for 1 product only, it will cost around 500.000 rupiah and the doctor gave me about 4 to 5 products that I have to use.
Later, we decided just to buy the cleanser only because if we buy the whole package it will be extremely expensive.
Because of that, my mom took me to Dr.Listiani. This doctor is famous too said by my mom. Many people went there since she was young.
This doctor gave me cleanser, bedak kocok and some creams that I forget already (sorry >.<) and she suggested me to do the facial at her clinic.
I was terrified because the one that do the facial is not the doctor, just regular assistants, I decided not to took it.
Again as always, I used the products everyday, my skin got better, then I repurchased again. Yup, as you guess, after the repurchase, the products did nothing to me.
My conclusion back then and until now is that my acne will get immune over time, so I think I always have to renew my regimen.
Move from dermatology, I tried to use local drugstore products. I remember I tried Clean & Clear and from them I got my very first blackheads.lol. I decided, my skin doesn't fit with this product.
Biore also has acne series as I remember, but I'm afraid to try their products because I used their cleanser way before I have acne and after using it, I got acne. So, I think I better not to use it.
My relatives said that I should use Marcks powder, try it and sadly it made me have more blackheads T__T.
After struggling around to find the best drugstore products and still can't find it.
I started to do facial once a month at beauty salon and also tried peeling for the first time there. It's quite good though, but still can't beat my acne that grow so fast. The acne almost on my entire face, except chin, eyes and moustache area (I don't know what it's called, even in my own language.lol. and I just realise that now! )
I heard this clinic called Erha but some say if you try Erha once, you have to back to them again and again, some also say that it's expensive.
I was in high school when I tried Erha. Like all dermatologies, the queue is so freaking long haha.
My doctor is the nice type one and young too. First visit, she suggested me to do peeling because my skin already become so dull. She also shot some of my big blemishes. I said to her to take it slow and not hurt, and use the thinest needle she had.lol. also, informed her (more like threaten :p) that when I get hurt, I usually hit the subject, it's part of my reflex hehe. So she really careful not to make me hurt.
Got so many creams from this clinic, day creams and night creams are different and she gave me supplement, thank goodness, I captured it (because I started blogging that time ^^ )
I have to back once a month for routine consultation and CHANGE the creams.
Yeah, so every month the creams formula got change. I went to this clinic for about a year. The longest dermatology I ever had. It's because they change their creams.lol
I got tired of waiting, everytime I went there and also tired applying many creams every day and night, and my skin got so much better so I think I can just leave it, but I was wrong, the acne start to back again.
To me, acne medication is like a wall to barrier the acne to get and stay on my face. Once the wall broken, they start entering
Well, I was in high school so I known more of cosmetics brand. I tried body shop tea tree oil.
I bought their cleanser and toner. That time they just had these two. But, a cleanser and toner are not strong enough to prevent the acne.
Then, I tried Etude House AC Clinic series
This is the only package they have that time. Now, they carried many products from this line haha.
this is what I thought about that time. Yes, I blogged about this products before :p
In TV there was an ads about Murad acne treatment series.
And, my mom get tempted for me to try it. The price is about 500.000 rupiah as I remember, then when I searched on Sephora, I got a better package with better price, about 450.000. So, I decided to bought it from sephora (blog about this also, just a haul though)
The package is so cute. I still keep it until now :)
I don't have any impression about the toner so it's just a usual toner, nothing special.
The cleanser is so good, so refreshing, I bought the full size after try it.
Exfoliating acne treatment gel is one of my favourite (read my review here : Murad exfoliating acne treatment gel review )
Acne Spot treatment is good for big blemishes, but it still takes 2 - 3 days before the blemishes become smaller and smaller.
Skin Perfecting lotion, it smells like nut and I like it.lol not sticky too, the effect is not to obvious though.
After using the series, the acne got better but back again to the repurchased thing..... yeah, I think I don't need to explain what happens after that.lol
After that (the creams gone), I took a break. I don't use any acne product so my acne got worsen to the stated almost like the first time before I went to Erha. So, I went back again to Erha, the doctor gave me the creams that I used before (you know, same problem same creams, it works like that hehe)
Got better, but not like the first time, it takes sooo long and still not cleared up.
Money crisis came, I can't afford to go Erha again. Oh yeah, I spent about 500.000 to 700.000 per visit every month in Erha (include creams and consultation).
Because I still have some creams left and I become my own doctor using that cream.lol
I got interested with western brand because of it's price (and I think because of Murad too :p ). I searched many many products to try on
